We all know that the Xperia X-series smartphones from the Sony Xperia were very much popular among the smartphone users all around the world and among all the smartphones Xperia XA was the unsung hero. We saw that Xperia X proper and XZ followed the classic Sony design, but the XA came on the market with some extra padding. Though XA specifications are weaker than it X-series siblings with a 13MP camera, midrange MediaTek processor and a low-resolution display, but still it was very much praised by the users.
Recently, after a year Sony again launched the new generation of XA under the brand name XA1. This new smartphone comes with a new generation MediaTek processor and a beautiful body design. The main look of the XA1 has not very much changed from the XA, but it has now come to the market with a 23MP rear camera and long lasting battery build from the node of 16nm fabrication.
Coming to the key features and full phone specifications as per Xperia XA1 reviews, it comes with an aluminium body frame with a polycarbonate back and scratch proof glass. It has 5 inch TFT LCD display with 1280×720 pixel resolution. XA1 runs on the latest Android version i.e. Android v7.0 or Nougat. Talking about the cameras, the 23MP rear camera comes with ½.3” sensor, 24mm focal length, f/2.0 aperture and with a single LED flash. The rear camera allows to record videos at 1080 pixels and to capture photos in autofocus, HDR and Panorama mode. The front camera is 8MP with a ¼” sensor.
We have already discussed the brand new processor, which is nothing but the 16nm MediaTek Helio P20 Octa-core processor. The processor is comprised of four 2.4GHz Cortex A53 chip and four 1.6GHz Cortex A53 chip. XA1 comes with 32GB internal storage memory and 3GB ram where one can use an additional SD card up to 128GB. Some other key features are a two stage shutter release option and a single bottom loudspeaker. XA1 supports dual SIM facility, 2.0 USB, Wi-Fi, GPS, 4.2 Bluetooth version and LTE mode. The most important feature is its 2300mAh Li-Ion battery which comes with a fast charging option and can be charged up 100% within 18-20 minutes.
Now with all these features, the XA1 has some major drawbacks. Comparing with the other trending smartphones, XA1 doesn’t have a fingerprint sensor and no stereotype speakers at the top and bottom. In today’s world when we are using a pen drive instead of a floppy as a portable storage device and trying to complete every possible job with our smartphones, we need to have a phone with the huge battery backup. Here XA1 lags a huge as it comes with a 2300mAh battery and which gives very much poor battery backup than the other trending smartphones.
